NO8.

$166.00

This piece is the largest in the collection and was the second one I worked on.

For this sculpture, I wanted to capture the movement of fabric. I began by experimenting with a piece of cloth, observing how it naturally folds, catches light, and pools gracefully. I then translated that movement into the form of this piece. Sculpting fabric has always been my favorite challenge, and I’ve long been inspired by ancient Greek statues, particularly the way sculptors carved the texture of cloth from marble.

On the left side of this altar piece is a spot for a tea light candle. In the center, there is a vase to hold either dried or fresh flowers. Near the candle, you'll find a small opal embellishment. I find that opals are particularly lovely when tapping into our creative life force energy. In the center of the piece is space to hold crystals or other treasured items, and on the right side, there’s a place to prop up a card.

The piece is finished with a clear glaze over a dark brown clay body, giving it a beautiful shiny finish.

On the back of the vase, there’s a hidden star—a little secret tucked into the design.

This piece feels both grounding and feminine. If we’re talking astrology, (which I love) this piece feels like a girl with Capricorn placements. She is a grounded dreamer, stable yet soft, feminine, and a committed lover.
